English
The children will
be taking part in a wide range of literacy activities, many of
which will make use the setting of World War Two. We will be
looking at some fantastic stories set during the war and will
be thinking about how people would have felt. They will be producing
a range of fiction and non-fiction pieces and will be aiming
to improve their use of homophones and varying sentence length
for effect. Please try to read with your child at least 3 times
a week and help them to learn their weekly spellings.
Maths
All children will be
following the Maths Framework. Each week the children will learn
some new Maths facts and there will continue to be a particular
emphasis on mental maths. A half-termly target will be sent home
each with information about your child's maths target. In addition
there will be a weekly multiplication (times tables) test including
related division facts as well as a mental maths test. Please
refer to Maths outlines for further information.
