Summer Term
2010

We are all very pleased with the progress the children have made already and we are sure that with your continued support this will continue.
We are always collecting junk for modelling so please send any in which you might have.
Please discourage your child from bringing in any toys to school as these
can get easily lost or broken and this may cause unnecessary distress.

Swimming

F4 will swim on a Tuesday afternoon.
F3 will swim on a Wednesday afternoon.
Please ensure that your child brings their swimming kit to school on this day in a names bag.
Girls will need their hair tied up. It will also help if your child is dressed in clothes that they can easily take off and on eg a T - shirt rather than a shirt and socks rather than tights.
Please make sure that all of your children's clothes have their name in.

 How You Can Help

  • Ensure your child has appropriate clothing for the weather (sun cream and hat when needed)
  • 'Read' with your child several times each week. Help them learn their sounds and new words.
  • Practice writing their names and simple sentences.
  • Do simple addition and subtractions problems practically with your child when they are playing.
  • Share their chosen library book each week. Ask your child to describe the pictures to tell the story. "What will happen next?" Read the text and point to the words. "Can you remember the title of the book?" Encourage your child to start to read the words which they recognize.
  • Play simple number games and sing number songs.
